KR Security Systems were called out to the De Vere Wokefield Estate Hotel in Reading after staff reported that televisions across the hotel were receiving no signal. With dozens of rooms affected, restoring reliable communal TV distribution was essential to maintain guest experience and operational continuity.
Our engineers quickly diagnosed issues within the existing IRS (Integrated Reception System) and carried out a full upgrade to bring the system back to modern standards.
A brand-new Fracarro Elika PRO 700C LTE700 aerial was installed to replace the failing rooftop equipment. This advanced aerial is designed to resist interference from 4G/5G signals, ensuring stronger and more stable Freeview reception — particularly important for large hotel environments where signal quality must remain consistent.
Mounted securely on the rooftop, the new aerial now provides a clean, powerful source signal for the entire IRS network.
To further improve performance, we fitted a Programmable Filter Launch Amplifier. This intelligent amplifier:
Filters out unwanted frequencies
Balances TV signals for uniform distribution
Ensures every room receives an excellent-quality feed
Increases the resilience of the IRS against external interference
Our engineers also inspected, tested and reconfigured all distribution components to guarantee optimal performance throughout the hotel.
Following the upgrade, TV signal was fully restored across the hotel, providing guests with uninterrupted access to Freeview channels. The new LTE700-protected aerial and programmable amplifier offer long-term reliability, ensuring the hotel maintains strong, consistent television reception — even in high-demand or interference-prone environments.
